Andy LeCount to Join HarperCollins

0408903Andy LeCount will begin his new role as vice president, director of sales for general books at HarperCollins on December 29.

In the new position, LeCount will lead overall sales for the adult hardcover and trade paperback imprints. In addition, he will supervise the adult sales teams for Barnes & Noble and Amazon.

LeCount comes to HarperCollins from the Hachette Book Group (HBG), where he was serving as executive director of chain stores. In that role, he oversaw sales for Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million for all adult imprints and served as the primary liaison between the sales and publishing teams at Little, Brown and Company. LeCount has also worked for Macmillan, Rodale, BN.com, Tor and Encore Books.

Josh Marwell, president of sales at HarperCollins, announced the news in a memo to staffers. “We are thrilled to have him as part of our team,” he wrote.
