Al Franken, the current junior United States senator from Minnesota, has signed a memoir deal with the Hachette Book Group imprint, Twelve. Prior to establishing his political career, he (pictured, via) was well-known as a writer and comedic actor on Saturday Night Live.
According to The Associated Press, the book “will cover his career from Saturday Night Live to his years in Washington…He has joked that the new book would be a ‘psychological thriller’ about his experiences in the Senate.”
The Huffington Post reports that Franken received “at least $1 million” for this book deal. Robert B. Barnett, an attorney at Williams & Connolly LLP, negotiated the agreement on his behalf. The publisher has scheduled the release date for 2017. (via Forward)
