Academy of American Poets Forum This October

The Academy of American Poets has revealed the schedule for its ninth annual Poets Forum in New York.

The event will kick off with a reading and book signing by the group’s Board of Chancellors, which includes U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera, National Book Critics Circle Award winner and Citizen author Claudia Rankine, and National Book Award winner Mark Doty.

The event will also include a reading by New York State Poet Laureate Marie Howe and a literary tour of Brooklyn given by Brooklyn’s poet laureate Tina Chang. Poet Joy Harjo will give the event’s “Blaney Lecture,” on young indigenous poets. The event will take place on the campuses of New York University and The New School October 8 to 10.
