Chris Hemsworth Thor (GalleyCat)Four new actors have joined the cast of the Thor: Ragnarok movie. According to Marvel’s announcement, Cate Blanchett will play Hela, Jeff Goldblum will play the Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson will play Valkyrie, and Karl Urban will play Skurge.

Here’s more from IGN: “Hela, of course, is a perennial Thor villain, the ruler of the Asgardian underworld, while Valkyrie is an Asgardian warrior who has also served as an Earth hero on the Avengers and the Defenders. Skurge, also known as the Executioner, is an Asgardian foe (and sometime ally) to Thor who had a great arc in the Walt Simonson run for the character. The Grandmaster is a so-called Elder of the Universe, the group of ancient cosmic characters that the Collector (played by Benicio Del Toro in Guardians of the Galaxy) also belongs to.”

Fans can also expect to see four familiar faces who have agreed to return to the Marvel universe in this film adaptation: Chris Hemsworth in the title role, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk (a.k.a. Dr. Bruce Banner). Taika Waititi has signed on to serve as the director. Marvel Entertainment will release Thor: Ragnarok on November 3, 2017. (via The Hollywood Reporter)
