Chipotle Mexican Grill has recruited eleven new writers to create pieces for its “Cultivating Thought” line. With the help of this team, the company will post original content in the form of stories and illustrations on its cups and bags.
M.T. Anderson, Anthony Doerr, Stephen J. Dubner, Laura Esquivel, Jonathan Franzen, Laura Hillenbrand, Sue Monk Kidd, Lois Lowry, Tom Perrotta, Mary Roach, and Colson Whitehead have signed on to participate. Past contributors include Neil Gaiman, Amy Tan, and Malcolm Gladwell.
According to the press release, the company has also formed a partnership with Amazon Kindle to launch the Super Short Book Report sweepstakes. Those who wish to enter must “submit a 103-character book report, based on one of the new ‘Cultivating Thought’ stories, for the chance to win prizes including one of 500 Amazon Kindle Paperwhite e-readers.” It will run until September 23.
