Shawna Thomas is leaving NBC News for Vice Media, where she’ll serve as Vice News’ Washington bureau chief.
Thomas most recently served as senior digital editor and senior producer of Meet the Press. She had been with NBC for a decade.
“We want a Washington bureau that isn’t trying to break the latest news on what the whip gave to this person,” said Vice News executive vp of content and news Josh Tyrangiel, in a statement. “What we want are people who can tell the world, ‘actually, the government works this way.’
