The New York Times has shifted Trish Hall from her role as deputy editorial page editor for Op-Ed to the newsroom, where she’ll serve as “a new kind of projects editor looking for mini startups.”
Hall has served as op-ed editor and Sunday Review editor since 2011. She has been with the Times on and off since 1986. Before joining the Times, Hall served as a food reporter for The Wall Street Journal.
In a note to staffers announcing the move, Times executive editor Dean Baquet and editorial page editor Andy Rosenthal laid out Hall’s new responsibilities:
Trish will work with every part of the newsroom and editorial to analyze articles and projects that are in the works and might lend themselves to sponsorship.
