RIP: Journalist and Springsteen Fanatic CynDee Royle Lambert

Delaware’s The Journal News pays tribute today to a beloved former employee. CynDee Royle Lambert started out in the classified ads department (remember those?) and was later move up to the sports pages:
“She said, ‘I don’t know anything about sports.’ And I said, ‘I don’t care, you’re the smartest person I’ve interviewed,’ ” [former News Journal sports editor and executive editor Henry] Freeman remembered.
Freeman said he learned much later Royle Lambert, one of the first women to cover sports for The News Journal,was harassed on the sidelines of games she covered, but never told anyone.
