Former NYT Regional Employees Asked To Sign Non-Compete
The employees formerly of the NYT Regional Group papers, now purchased by Halifax Media Holdings, have until tomorrow to decide whether to sign a non-compete contract Halifax is offering or lose their jobs, Poynter reports.
The agreement would prevent laid-off employees from working for media companies for two years in any other city with a Halifax property.
The agreement also makes the employees at-will employees, which means they can be laid off at any time for any reason.
