David Granger Out at Esquire

A 19-year stint comes to a close.

This is kind of crazy — David Granger is out as editor in chief of Esquire. Granger had been editor of the magazine since 1997.

Town + Country editor Jay Fielden will succeed Granger as editor of Esquire. He’ll also serve as editorial director of T+C. Fielden had served as editor of T+C since 2011.

For his part, Granger issued a gracious statement about his time at Esquire.

“The last 19 years have been the best time ever to be a creative professional.
