More news from CBS Radio News… Steven Portnoy has been named a CBS Radio News Congressional correspondent, an appointment that will take effect starting February 23.

In a press release announcing the move, CBS News Vice President for Radio, Harvey Nagler, called Portnoy “one of the finest broadcasters in our industry who has distinguished himself time and time again by reporting on many important stories for ABC Radio News during the last 13 years.”

Portnoy, who previously served as a reporter for three years at WMAL in Washington, commented on his new role with CBS Radio: “Under the leadership of Harvey Nagler, who has maintained a standard of excellence first established by Paul White, journalists at CBS Radio News are at the top of our craft.
