Juana Summers Moves to Mashable

Summers is leaving NPR for a politics editor role at Mashable.

NPR congressional reporter Juana Summers is moving to Mashable, where she will be the site’s first politics editor. Summers, who starts at Mashable in August, has been at NPR for a little over a year. Before that, she spent four years at Poltico reporting on the 2012 Republican primaries and general election, veterans issues and defense policy.

Executive editor Jim Roberts outlined Mashable’s plan for election coverage in an announcement, stating:

I’ve been involved in campaign coverage for 20 years, and I have seen how easy it is for that coverage to be dulled by monotony.
