Zuckerberg Would Make Everything Public if Facebook Launched Today

Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg spoke with TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington at the Crunchies awards ceremony, touching on the subject of the social-networking site’s privacy policies and saying everything would be public if he started Facebook today.

Zuckerberg’s answer to Arrington’s question about Facebook’s privacy policies, as reported by ReadWriteWeb:

When I got started in my dorm room at Harvard, the question a lot of people asked was, “Why would I want to put any information on the Internet at all? Why would I want to have a Website?”

And then in the past five or six years, blogging has taken off in a huge way and all of these different services that have people sharing all of this information.
