Zucker: NBC Uni is About To Enter a 27-Month Period of Opportunity

Jeff Zucker speaks on the FT scoop that GE may sell off NBC Universal after the Beijing Olympics. From USA Today:

”If we turn the company around, then those questions will subside. We’re doing that. We’ve shown four consecutive quarters of year-over-year operating growth. And we’re about to enter a 27-month period of tremendous opportunity with the Beijing Olympics, the political season, our first Super Bowl in more than a decade and the Vancouver Olympics.”

Zucker also mentions that the only difference between Fox Business news as a competitor to NBC Universal’s CNBC and that other cable business news competitors — CNNfn, Bloomberg and the Financial News Network — is ”the amount of media attention that’s involved because it’s Rupert Murdoch and News Corp.”
