Zinio to Debut All-Digital Online Newsstand for College Market

ZinioNatGeoTraveler.jpgDigital publisher Zinio is hitting the books, teaming up with National Association of College Stores subsidiary NACS Media Solutions (NMS) to develop an all-digital online newsstand for the college market, set to debut in August, offering more than 3,000 magazines and books via its UNITY platform.

UNITY enables users to access content online or offline on PCs, iPhones, and iPads, and the parties said the digital newsstand will be branded with “Powered by Zinio,” and NACS members promoting the site will be able to partake in revenue-sharing arrangements.

Zinio’s partners include Hearst, Bonnier, IDG, Hachette Filipacchi, McGraw-Hill, Rogers Media, and Wenner Media.

Zinio global executive vice president and chief marketing officer Jeanniey Mullen also announced the debut of USTA Magazine on its platform, the new issue of National Geographic Traveler, the July 15 release of VIVmag‘s spa issue, and the upcoming debut of Rolling Stone‘s top 500 songs of all-time, which will allow users to listen to iTunes previews of each song and purchase them.
