The featured product is the YouTube Director application, which is currently available only for iPhone users in the U.S. and Canada, with an Android version coming soon.
YouTube said on the YouTube Director page that brands can create video ads in three easy steps:
- Choose a template: Download the app on your iPhone and select from ready-to-go templates that’ll help you introduce your business and show potential customers what you have to offer.
- Shoot and edit: Just point your phone and shoot—the app will show you what to do step-by-step. Easily add text, animations and music to create a polished video ad.
- Start advertising: Upload your finished video to YouTube and start promoting your business to customers. One of our AdWords experts will help you set up your video ad.
YouTube also said brands that spend $150 running ads on the site can have professional filmmakers come to their businesses and shoot their ads free-of-charge, but this service is currently available in just six cities: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
