YouTube App For Xbox Live To Bring YouTube To Your TV

YouTube has already tackled the web and mobile. Now they are moving on to full domination, bringing their service to television as well with the launch of a YouTube app for Xbox Live.

Xbox 360 users will soon be able to watch YouTube videos on TV.  The video site is announcing a new YouTube app for Xbox Live and is currently rolling it out to gamers that are part of the Xbox Live Preview Program.  YouTube has already tackled the web and mobile.  Now they are moving on to full domination, bringing their service to television as well.

According to Donald Malanson of Engadget, “Beta participants [in the Xbox Live preview program] should not be able to download the app from the console’s new Apps Marketplace, and find all the usual features you’d expect from YouTube, plus the Kinect controls you’d expect from an Xbox app.”

There is no word as of yet on when the app will be rolled out to the general public.  However, a blog post went up on the YouTube blog late Tuesday night, Pacific Time, about the launch of the new service.  The blog post was immediately taken down, but could indicate that YouTube will be launching the service quite soon.  Xbox 360 users hoping to watch YouTube on the big screen will just have to wait and see.
