Youth Radio Needs Money to Pick Up Its Peabody

Oakland-based Youth Radio was recently told it would be awarded a George Foster Peabody Award for its fantastic investigative series on the sex trafficking of underage girls in the Oakland region. Only one problem: the award-winning journos don’t have enough money to attend the award ceremony. So Youth Radio is trying to raise $5,000 dollars to send the winning production team to New York to accept their award. They just passed the $600 mark with only a couple of weeks to go.
