You Mean the iPad Doesn't Have a Solar Recharging Pad?
Internet and blog entrepreneur Jason Calacanis revealed many features of Apple’s new iPad tablet device via Twitter the night before Apple debuted the product, including its built-in HDTV tuner, its solar recharging pad, and its two cameras.
The problem: The iPad boasts none of those features, although media outlets including CNNMoney.com and WSJ.com took the bait and published information from Calacanis’ tweets as fact.
Calacanis spoke with Kara Swisher of AllThingsD about his prank tweets, which also mentioned nonexistent features including facial recognition, shaking the tablet to plant seeds while playing Farmville, and user fingerprint profiles:
