Yahoo to Cut More Than 1,000 Staffers

The new year has started off great.

Yahoo is planning to reduce its workforce by at least 10 percent. The cuts, according to Business Insider, are expected to impact more than 1,000 staffers. Happy new year!

Despite losing about 14 percent of its workforce since the start of 2015, the company currently employs roughly 10,000 people. Yahoo’s media business, European operations, and platforms-technology group are likely to be hit the hardest.

A spokesperson told BI that “additional plans for a more focused Yahoo on or before our Q4 earnings call,” are coming.
