WTTG Scores Big At Local Emmys

From the Post:

In what’s become an annual trend, Fox station WTTG won the most local Emmy Awards during a ceremony last night at the downtown Washington Ritz-Carlton.

WTTG (Channel 5) received 16 Emmys — the 10th straight year that the station has led or co-led the market in awards.

Shawn Yancy was named the region’s top anchor for her work on WTTG’s 5 and 10 p.m. newscasts. The award was one of 16 the station received at a ceremony last night.

WUSA (Channel 9) was second last night with nine Emmys, followed by Maryland Public Television (Channel 22), which won eight; and WJLA (Channel 7) and Baltimore’s WMAR (Channel 2), which each received seven. Ratings leader WRC (Channel 4) won two.
