Reuters has added former Wall Street Journal veteran Tim Aeppel. According to a memo from editor in charge of company news Eric Effron, Aeppel will serve as a reporter covering “the intersection of economics and companies, with an emphasis on manufacturing.”
Aeppel worked for the Journal from 1989 to this past July, most recently as chief economics correspondent.
“Tim has spent much of his career chasing stories on the world’s factory floors and industrial byways, applying a sharp eye for detail coupled with a deep understanding of the macro forces that shape the economy,” wrote Effron.
Aeppel’s appointment is effective September 8.
