Writer Susan Orlean Becomes a Blogger

You may have heard that New Yorker Writer Susan Orlean has been keeping, and writing about, chickens lately. Well, now she’s started a blog at thenewyorker.com with a name inspired by chicken vocab: it’s called Free Range.

In her first post, she answers the question “Why a blog?”: “Why not? Writers like to write, and writing in different forms—short, long, bite-sized, done on the fly, done with painstaking attention—all interest me,” writes Orlean.

Of course, she’s not just writing about chickens, but about whatever interests her. Orlean is a wide-ranging writer, and this blog ought to be interesting.
