If you see an unfamiliar face (or name) gracing the screen on the WPIX/Channel 11, that would be Narmeen Choudhury. The Queens-born Choudhury joins WPIX as a general assignment reporter.

Choudhury’s (left) Channel 11 arrival follows a four-year run at Tribune’s WTIC in Hartford, where she was a reporter and fill-in anchor. While in Hartford, her stock rose covering such stories as the chimpanzee attack in Stamford and the workplace shooting at Hartford Distributors.

Earlier in her career, Choudhury worked in Syracuse. Her first TV job was at YNN in Albany where she worked on the assignment desk before being promoted to producer.

A product of Duchess County, Choudhury earned her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism at Boston University.

WPIX also has promoted veteran reporter Kirstin Cole to full-time. She joined the WPIX staff in April as a per diem reporter. Cole spent nine years on air at WCBS/Channel 2, including two anchor stints.

This is a homecoming for Cole, who was a morning news reporter at WPIX in 2000 and 2001.
