Would You Bother with a Clip on Antenna or Dongle on Your iPhone Just to Watch TV?

Interesting item from Silicon Alley Insider…
iPhone To Get Qualcomm’s ‘FLO TV’ Mobile TV
FLO TV is a service that provides mobile TV viewing for video enabled phones on the Verizon Wireless and AT&T Wireless networks. The current service seems reasonably simple to use for consumers. If you have a phone compatible with the service, you subscribe to it and watch TV shows.
But, the iPhone option will require add-on hardware to plug into the iPhone. I can tell you from personal experience that anything that needs to be plugged in or attached does not get used much. It is just too much of a hassle. Moreover, it also creates issues for simple aspects like needing to remove a carrying case before plugging in a device or figuring out how to carry the add-on without misplacing it all the time.
Here’s something else. I just checked the AT&T Mobile TV offering. The Basic service is priced at $15/month while the Plus service is $30/month. This seems like a lot of money to spend on a service that you might watch minutes per day.
