Workplace From Facebook Adds Several Remote Work-Related Features

Oculus for Business is now out of closed beta

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said during his publicly livestreamed town hall meeting Thursday that enterprise solution Workplace From Facebook reached 5 million paid users, up from 3 million last October.

Zuckerberg also said the Work Groups feature introduced for Facebook and Messenger From Facebook at the end of that month now has 20 million monthly active users.

With remote work not going away anytime soon due to the coronavirus pandemic, Facebook detailed several new features for Workplace From Facebook with an eye toward the present and the future.

Workplace From Facebook now has Workplace Rooms, a clone of the recently introduced Messenger Rooms, which enables video calls of up to 50 people, with no time limit.

Calls can be created via Workplace Chat, groups, News Feed or the social network’s Portal video-calling devices.
