Cloud security provider Netskope announced a deep native integration with Workplace by Facebook.

Netskope said the deep integration uses Workplace by Facebook’s application-programming interfaces to “provide comprehensive security and allow enterprise customers to inspect content and apply policies across Workplace to satisfy their regulatory compliance requirements.”

According to Netskope, organizations’ security teams can use Netskope Cloud DLP and Threat Prevention to control and safeguard intellectual property, files and data shared in Workplace by Facebook groups and chats and ensure regulatory compliance.

The two parties announced an inline version of Netskope for Workplace by Facebook at the social network’s F8 developers’ conference in April.

Vice president of Workplace by Facebook Julien Codorniou said in a press release announcing the deep integration: “Workplace helps change the way people work by connecting entire organizations through tools that are familiar to them. Security is our top priority. We’re pleased to see how ISV [independent software vendor] partners like Netskope are ensuring that customers have the most advanced data privacy and protection controls and the flexibility they want when enabling Workplace.”

Netskope founder and CEO Sanjay Beri added: “Employees across the enterprise are demanding access to collaboration tools like Workplace, but security teams need to ensure that use is compliant with regulations and security policies. Via our partnership with Facebook’s enterprise teams, Netskope was able to leverage APIs to extend our cloud security platform to deliver a unique and first in industry solution for Netskope for Workplace customers. This solution gives enterprise IT the peace of mind when it comes to enterprise requirements in e-discovery, regulatory compliance data exfiltration and application activity monitoring. We’re delighted to further our relationship with Facebook to help secure their widely used collaboration platform.”
