Worker Productivity Drops, Could Help the Unemployed

For the past year or so, people with jobs have had to take on more and more responsibility as companies favored giving current workers extra duties as opposed to hiring new employees. And the employees seemed to fall in line, producing more work. However, it seems like that trend has ended.

After 18 months of steady increases in worker productivity, the Labor Department today announced that productivity actually decreased .9 percent during the second quarter of the year.
