Yes, Young Women Are Addicted To Facebook

According to a new study published by Oxygen Media, one-third of women 18-34 check Facebook when they first wake up, and 39 percent are self-confessed “Facebook addicts”. While we’ve known that approximately 50 percent of Facebook users log in to the site every day, it’s yet another study confirming the stickiness of Facebook, drawing users back multiple times throughout the day. Also included in the study was numbers about the womens’ standards for Facebook behavior.

For example, 79 percent of females are fine with kissing photos, whereas 42 percent believe that it’s ok to post intoxicated videos of yourself. Not surprisingly, none of that 42 percent has been filing for unemployment (sarcasm). 58 percent of the females surveyed use Facebook as a tool for keeping tabs on “frienemies”. Whatever reason the females are using the site, it’s pretty clear that it has become an addictive tool for these individuals.
