Windows Phone 7 Launching in U.S. in November? After Europe's October Launch???

Windows Phone 7 coming to Europe in October, US in November, according to Microsoft COO (video)
Microsoft has said since early this year that Windows Phone 7 would released “for the holidays” this year. While this was generally thought to refer to the Christmas buying season, I had hoped Microsoft was referring to the U.S. Labor Day in September in order to build interest and give non-preferred developers build apps before the holiday buying season begins.
On one hand, a September release would be overshadowed by Apple’s annual iPod refresh announcements during that month.
