Wiley Signs with BLIO

John Wiley & Sons has announced a deal with Baker & Taylor, the distributor powering BLIO, the much-buzzed eBook platform that is the brainchild of inventor Ray Kurzwell. BLIO is supposed to launch later this month.

Wiley is an ideal partner for BLIO, a platform that emphasizes the multimedia capabilities of eBooks read on computers and non-E-Ink mobile devices, because of its huge list of cookbooks, how-to guides (Wiley publishes the “For Dummies” books) and other heavily illustrated titles.

Here‘s more info from Baker & Taylor. BLIO is entering a very crowded field, and the iPad only makes BLIO’s multimedia capabilities less unique. Plus there’s no Mac support for BLIO. We’ll see how readers feel when it launches.
