Why NYT's Thomas Friedman Hates TimesSelect

We caught up with New York Times Op-ed columnist Thomas Friedman last night at the Webby Awards in Lower Manhattan. Friedman, who was there to pick up his Webby Person of the Year Award, offered his thoughts on being behind the paid TimesSelect wall (“I hate it”), the perks of whimsical travel at the Times (“I can get on a plane right now and go to India, don’t have to ask anybody, and somebody’s got to pay for it”) and where he came up with his five-word Webby acceptance speech (“in the shower”).
