WHO Health Alert Debuts on WhatsApp

It provides tips on avoiding infection, travel advice and debunking of myths

The World Health Organization teamed up with WhatsApp on a new WHO Health Alert for users of the Facebook-owned messaging application.

WhatsApp users can save the number +41 79 893 1892 into their phone contacts and text the word “Hi” in a WhatsApp message to begin receiving alerts, or they can visit the WhatsApp Coronavirus Hub, which was rolled out earlier this week, and click on the WHO link.

Information provided in the WHO Health Alert includes tips on protecting yourself from infection, travel advice and debunking myths about the coronavirus pandemic.
