White Powder Sent to NYT Office Not Anthrax

We told you yesterday that part of the NYT office had been cleared out after an employee there had opened an envelope addressed to the paper, which contained a white, powdery substance. Well, turns out the substance was harmless — it’s actually “some kind of pebbles” that are still being tested — and the police let employees back into the building a mere four hours later. That said, whoever sent the letter is apparently not a fan of the Times op-ed pages.

The letter was addressed to Andrew Rosenthal, the editorial page editor of the Times…The address of the Times was hand-written and there was no return address.
