During a 2012 speech at the United Nations General Assembly, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used a diagram of an Acme Corporation-style bomb in an effort to convince the US and other world powers to draw a “red line” on Iran’s nuclear program.
“At this late hour there is only one way to peacefully prevent Iran from getting atomic bombs,” Netanyahu told other world leaders. “And that is by placing a clear red line on Iran’s nuclear weapons program.”
On Thursday, the White House dusted off the same cartoonish graphic to seemingly poke fun at the Prime Minister and his scruples with the P5 + 1’s potential nuclear deal with Iran.
