Instagram had some fun in the run-up to Thursday’s kickoff of 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, compiling its All-World Team of participating players, by position and number of followers.
The Facebook-owned photo- and video-sharing network said 146 million people follow soccer-related accounts on Instagram.
Instagram’s All-World Team is made up of:
- Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer, Germany, 9.19 million followers
- Defender: Gerard Pique, Spain, 16.24 million
- Defender: Marcelo Viera, Brazil, 25.05 million
- Defender: Thiago Silva, Brazil, 12.78 million
- Midfielder: Andrés Iniesta, Spain, 22.94
