If You Want Clickthroughs, When Is The Best Time To Tweet? [INFOGRAPHIC]

One of the age-old questions of Twitter is “When do I tweet?” It’s not easy to answer, as your target audience might be different from my target audience, and my content might be better suited for a different time than yours.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t come up with some pretty good meta-analysis of what works on Twitter, when.

Bitly conducted a study of the retweets and clickthroughs that tweets get when they’re posted at certain times of the week and times of day, and Raka Creative put it all together in an at-a-glance infographic.

The Bitly study looked at links shared in May using their shortening service to determine when a tweet was most effective in getting people to click the link.

Raka Creative took their data and put it in the below infographic.

So when is the best time to tweet?

Although this should only be used as a guideline, the data says that tweeting Mondays-Thursdays between 1 and 3p.m. Eastern will get you the most clickthroughs if you’re sharing a link.

The Bitly data also shows that tweeting after 8p.m. on any day of the week, and after 3p.m. on Fridays will get you the fewest clickthroughs.
