Can This App Predict Your Facebook Status Updates?

What Would I Say?, an application created at Princeton University's HackPrinceton last weekend, claims to be able to predict Facebook users’ status updates in the tones they usually use, but when we tried it, the results, while accurate in terms of topic, seemed as if they were composed by Yoda.

WhatWouldISayGeneratedStatus1What Would I Say?, an application created at Princeton University‘s HackPrinceton last weekend, claims to be able to predict Facebook users’ status updates in the tones they usually use, but when we tried it, the results, while accurate in terms of topic, seemed as if they were composed by Yoda.

After granting What Would I Say? permission to access users’ Facebook accounts, the app snatches parts of their old status updates to form new ones, presumably in their voice. No personal information is stored, and results are only posted if users grant permission.
