What to Expect in 2011 Android Phones? Dual-core Processors, 8 Megapixel Cameras, & 1080p Video Recording

At first glance, LG’s upcoming Android Optimus, apparently targeted for release in early 2011, looks like an iPhone 4 clone from the front (not so much from its back – see Engadget’s photos).

Exclusive: LG’s 4-inch Android phone with dual-core Tegra 2 and 1080p video coming in early 2011 (Engadget)

But a look beyond its apparently copycat front face reveals in interesting set of technical specifications that may provide a look at what we can expect from Android OS 2.3 or 3.0 based phones next year.

– Dual-core Tegra 2 processor
– 8 megapixel camera (unusual in the U.S. but available elsewhere for a while)
– 1080p video recording
– Front-facing camera

2011 should be another very interesting year for smartphone fans.
