What Makes A Hyperlocal Reporter

There’s a lot a talk lately about hyperlocal. Between AOL initiatives and the new Allbritton venture, TBD, more and more hyperlocal sites have begun to pop up. But how exactly does one define the term?

Blogger Seth Hartley tried to do just that in a new post. And he has a rather decent list of criteria to describe hyperlocal. In Hartley’s opinion, hyperlocal sites often have “opinion blended with facts,” and “participation from the community.”

It also includes a different type of reporter.
