Weather Channel Storms the Web

NEW YORK The Weather Channel Interactive has hooked up with guidebook giant Frommer’s Unlimited to beef up its travel-related content on the Web.

As part of a new partnership between the two companies,’s travel destination guides will feature Frommer’s content covering hundreds of destinations in the U.S. and overseas. The goal is to help users factor in seasonal conditions when making decisions on travel, as these guides provide data on the best times of year to plan trips based on established weather patterns.

Consumers in trip-planning mode can sort through the warmest, coldest, driest and wettest months for possible vacation spots, as well as gauge average temperature and rainfall measures.

Besides climate information,’s destination sections also offer classic travel information on attractions, hotels, kid-friendly activities and restaurants.

According to officials, each section now houses up to 50 individual articles, as well as tools such as interactive radar maps and currency calculators.
