WCBS and WNYW Partner in Chopper Coverage
Helicopter sharing is nothing new in this cost-cutting world. WNYW/Channel 5 is teaming up with WCBS/Channel 2, as confirmed to FishbowlNY by a WCBS spokesperson.
WNYW had shared aerial views with WNBC before ending the agreement earlier this year. WCBS was previously partnered with Channel 11/WPIX.
As for WNBC, which operates its own Chopper 4, it now has Kai Simonsen as its eye in the sky. For 13 years he was the primary helicopter reporter on Channel 5.
