Wattpad’s Metrics Report Released Today

Today Wattpad released its Q4 metrics report (though it doesn’t appear to be up on this page on the Wattpad site yet–we’re going off a press release), which not only has a lot of info about who’s using Wattpad when and on what device, but can also tell us a thing or two about global eBook consumption in general.

According to Wattpad, the US now accounts for 34% of the sites usage, making it the largest single country. Only two quarters ago, the largest user was Indonesia. This makes some sense, right? During the past six months, eBook have become the coolest thing in America, after “Jersey Shore” and Taylor Swift.

The report also shows that iPhone is still the most popular eBook phone, but that Android devices are the fastest growing, meaning they’re catching up. ““eBook consumption continued to experience rapid growth with a quarterly growth rate in excess of 50%.,” according to Eva Lau, COO of Wattpad. Take a peek at the full report later for colorful pie charts and more info about global usage of the site.
