WashingtonPost.com Launches Green Section

Touting itself WaPo states that it wants to be ‘a go-to destination for hard news, political policy and science driving the debate around global warming, energy and future of the environment’.

To introduce this section, washingtonpost.com, Slate magazine and Sprig are bringing together actor Edward Norton, global warming activist and producer of Al Gore‘s An Inconvenient Truth, Laurie David, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, author Bill McKibben, scientists, economists and their own distinguished editors for a week long, live discussion series online. Guests will address crucial environmental issues and answer reader questions.

Newt Gingrich?! If you want to know what the man that proposed a mandatory death penalty for smuggling marijuana thinks about other ‘green’ issues – the chat is here.
