Washington Post Headlines Now Delivered to Android Wear Products

NewsTime-on WatchThe Washington Post today launched a new app, its first designed for a wearable device.

The new app for Android Wear products, a line that includes three “smart” watches, serves as an extension to Android phone and tablet devices and delivers article headlines directly to the watch screen.

“The goal here is experimentation,” Julia Beizer, The Washington Post’s director of mobile product, told FishbowlDC of the company’s foray into wearable products. “While the wearables space is still small and emerging, we want to experiment with how readers consume news on these devices. What will they like? What features will work for them?”

Of note, access to Post content on Android wearable devices requires a subscription, at $14.99 per month for digital and mobile access to content, including across tablet and mobile apps.
