Washington Post Employees, Do You Owe Your Job to Kaplan?

In an online chat today, Washington Post Executive Editor Marcus Brauchli was asked if the newspaper survives solely because of the success of Kaplan. Although only a hypothetical, amazingly, Brauchli doesn’t say ‘No.’

Washington, D.C.: Would the Post still be in business if not for Kaplan?

Marcus Brauchli: That’s an interesting hypothetical question. The Washington Post Co. is a public company (www.washpostco.com), and you can see for yourself how the newspaper division fared last year (not great).
