Washington Insider Named New NBCU Counsel

Appointment frees up Rick Cotton to concentrate on digital theft

Washington, D.C. insider Kimberley Harris was named evp and general counsel for NBCUniversal, freeing up Rick Cotton to concentrate on anti-piracy policy and advocacy as senior counselor for IP protection.

Since 2012, Harris was partner with Davis Polk & Wardwell in the firm's litigation department where she advised clients and institutions in investigations by Congress, the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission and other government agencies. Prior to that, she served in the White House counsel's office as deputy counsel and deputy assistant to the president.
