Wash Times Announces "Significant" Layoffs: Maybe 150?

The Washington Times announced a “significant staff reduction” today, TPM and Politico report. The number of staff affected could be as many as 150 of the 370-person staff, Politico says.

Newsroom sources told TPM that the atmosphere at the paper has been one of waiting for the axe to fall.

“In recent days several people packed up their desk photos in anticipation they could be laid off with limited notice. Also, some staffers have been avoiding parking in the parking lot to be prepared for any sudden changes,” TPM’s Justin Elliot wrote.
