Wall Street Journal Editor Robert Thomson Smart To Oversee SmartMoney, Jobs Cut

News Corp has extended Wall Street Journal editor Robert Thomson’s influence to editor of SmartMoney, the WSJ‘s “Magazine of Personal Business” over which the corporation has recently taken sole control after buying the half of the publication it did not own from Hearst.

Additionally, SmartMoney will be added to the Dow Jones unit of the News Corp family. This means that about a dozen people will be cut from SmartMoney‘s business operations, although none are expected to be cut from editorial.
