Vook Lands $2.5 million in Seed Funding

The multimedia eBook company Vook has landed $2.5 million in seed funding. According to the release, investors include investor Ron Conway, Huffington Post chairman Kenneth Lerer, Maples Investments, Baseline Ventures and Founder Collective.

The company will use the influx of funding to “accelerate growth in all areas of its business and to support its plans for massive scale in 2010.” That push has already found some high-profile authors. Last week, GalleyCat reported that novelist Anne Rice will release her first Vook on March 1st, a digital version of her 1984 vampire story, “The Master of Rampling Gate.”
